About Leslie E. Maerov​

​

Leslie E. Maerov is an independent commercial arbitrator in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, he is a barrister and solicitor in British Columbia, and a solicitor of England & Wales.

 

After practising in a boutique Vancouver law firm, he became CEO of a public-listed telecom company, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, and construction of a fibre optic network in public and private infrastructure in Vancouver and Victoria.

He has been an arbitrator since 2011, focused on commercial disputes, both as sole arbitrator and as panel member, in Canadian and U.S. domestic disputes, and in international disputes.

Mr. Maerov is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CFCIArb.) Qualified Arbitrator of the ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC Q.Arb.), Director and Treasurer of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society (WCCAS), and maintains a dedicated continuing professional development interest.

He has been named to the rosters of ADRBC, the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee, VanIAC (Vancouver International  Arbitration Centre), ICDR Canada (International Centre for Dispute Resolution), FINRA (U.S. Financial Industry Regulation Authority) and NFA (U.S. National Futures Association), and is the immediate past Chair and long time director of VanIAC.

Mr. Maerov has been a presenter at numerous arbitration symposia on topics ranging from institutional rules to arbitration ethics and case driven procedural management.
